In the current review, we summarized the advances of LOXs family in cartilage homeostasis and regeneration, including embryogenesis, and potential involvement during pathophysiology of arthritis, as well as copper-mediated activation of LOXs and hypoxia-responsive signaling axis during recent decades, the main molecular modulation signaling network controlling LOXs expression, which is promising for potential clinical implications of cartilage regeneration in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering
