Surprisingly, I had never drawn a mermaid in my 22 years making posters professionally! It's always nice to tackle new subject matter. There's this track from DMB called 'Ocean and the Butterfly' that I felt captured a certain laid back breeziness and a kind of ethereal quality that I hoped the artwork would reflect.
