Antique Silver Betel and Tobacco Box – 19th Century South Sulawesi Art deco KleingrotheThis 19th century silver and copper box from South Sulawesi is a well preserved example of local craftsmanship influenced by Dutch colonial designs. Though rectangular in form, the faceted corners create an eight sided profile. The surface is engraved on all sides with floral and foliate motifs, and the box is fitted with a raised, hinged lid.
